New interviews. Here's the juicy stuff: Is there anything you're looking forward to playing next time?Brandon Routh: “Well, there's talk of fighting, so that would be, instead of getting beat up this time, maybe throwing some punches or at least throw some bad guys around. So that'd be fun for some different kind of stunts. See how the relationship with Lois progresses…” How will he explain to his mom that he's messing around with a nearly married woman?Brandon Routh: “Well, you know what? Martha's a pretty forward-thinking, smart woman. I think she might understand the situation. It's not like he came back and broke it up. They had a relationship before.” Source: movies.about.com/od/superman/a/superman112706.htm

OMG, I love Brandon now more than ever! He's always been very clear about Superman and Lois and his desire to see the writers move forward with that relationship. No talk of 'well she's with what's his name, so maybe a new love interest for Supes.' Nope, he gets that SuperClark and Lois belong together. #wub#

Yep, Brandon is such a Clois pimper. Let's hope Singer listens to him.

Next Superman Has More Baddies?Michael Dougherty, co-writer of last year's Superman Returns, told SCI FI Wire that the upcoming sequel will feature at least one villain drawn from the DC Comics franchise. Or more than one? "Maybe," Dougherty said coyly in an interview on the set of his upcoming supernatural horror film Trick 'r Treat in Vancouver, Canada, on Jan. 15. "It's [Mr.] Myxyzptlk," he added, with tongue in cheek. Dougherty said that it's likely he and his Superman Returns writing partner Dan Harris will again work with Singer on the sequel. "We're talking," Dougherty said. "We're bouncing ideas around with Bryan. Big ideas. Action-packed ideas." Singer has said the next installment will be along the lines of the second Star Trek film, and Dougherty said the comparison is apt. "I think it's going to be a more action-oriented film," he said. "Again, the easy comparison to make was [X-Men] to X2, or Star Trek [The Motion Picture] to Star Trek II. I mean, I know that Bryan has said he's going to Wrath of Khan it, and by that he means, 'Let's take what we've already established—we've gotten that out of the way—and let's just make it shorter, tighter and more action-packed." —Patrick Lee, News Editor source: SCI FI Wire

how about Lucy and Richard? well in a way the movie kinda borrowed some stories from the comic books, like Superman saving the aerospace plane, him dying like in his Doomsday fight. Richard and Lois engaged like forever, like her and Clark in the comics. But I have hope that our favorite couple will get back together, as for a villian. We know Zod is a goner, Lex is coming back, but who else will come foward to make Superman's life unpleasant?

Exclusive: No Zod in Superman Returns 2?Brandon Routh talks superhero sequel For all the lush visuals and emotional intensity of Superman Returns, a sizeable slab of its audience grumbled about its lack of balls-to-the-wall action, with complaints going something like, “If I wanted to watch a man lift increasingly heavy objects, I’d hang around my local skip.” Well, Supes himself, Brandon Routh, gave us a few hints as to what we can expect from the sequel. And it seems a proper Scary Bad Guy (no offense, Lex) is very much on the cards… “It’s going to be a lot more in that genre. In the first one, the obstacle was Superman’s love for Lois and his son, and Luthor using that against him. I just know that in the next film there will be a lot of action and I’m gonna get to fight something, or someone. An enemy with real physical power might be worked in there, definitely.”
Hmm… But what of a rumour that’s been floating around of late, that the next Superman flick will feature a certain outlaw from Krypton, a villain with immeasurable strength, a baddie whose love of baggy V-neck tunics is only matched by his fox-like cunning. In short, will Superman soon kneel once more before General Zod?
“I don’t know,” laughs Routh. “I don’t know how much we want to reprise characters that have appeared in the series before, since we’ve reset and used the first film to pay homage to all that’s come before. Now I think Bryan (Singer) might want to go somewhere new with it, which I think will be exciting.”
It’s early days for the project — Routh says he has two films lined up to shoot later this year (one a romantic comedy) before he dons the cape again, possibly in early 2008 — and aside from a bad guy, there’s something else missing: a title. “Yeah, I don’t think they’ve settled on one yet,” says Routh. “I suggested that Bryan call it Superman Returns Again, but I don’t think that will happen. They’re about to begin the pre-production process, so there’s a lot of ideas in the air and a lot of discussion about what’s going to happen with it. I promise a lot of excitement!”source: Empire Online
