The Oscar Nominations has been announced earlier this morning and SR is nominated for an Academy Award for: 24. Visual Effects: "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," "Poseidon," "Superman Returns." Read the rest of the Oscar Nominees here. The Academy Awards will be presented at the Kodak Theatre on Sunday, February 25th. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, I didn't expect for SR to be nominated for an Oscar at all, lol...so even if they were only nominated for 1 Oscar. Not bad, 1 nominations is at least better than none. ;D Congrats to the VE team of SR! Hope they win their only Oscar Nom. ;D

Yes, I agree, Teresa ^... if SR deserves any Oscar Nom and a win...it would be its VE. It was just simply amazing and not even the other 2 noms can compare to how amazing the VE for SR were.

A reminder to everyone that this Sunday will be Oscar Night and though SR is only nominated for 1 for Visual Effects category. Let's hope and cross our fingers that the SR Visual Effects team will win this one 'cause among the 3 nominees (including SR), we all know who deserved to win it. Also, reposting this lil' tidbit from Superman Homepage site: Superman returns... to the Oscars. Comedienne Ellen DeGeneres hosts Hollywood's biggest party, the 79th Annual Academy Awards, this Sunday at 8:30 PM on ABC. The Bryan Singer franchise-reviver, "Superman Returns", is nominated for an Oscar for best visual effects. Superman's rivals for the Oscar gold are all wet - "Poseidon" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest". The last time the Man of Steel received an Oscar was in 1979 when "Superman: The Movie" received a special Oscar for visual effects. "Superman: The Movie" was also nominated that year for "Best Film Editing", "Best Music, Original Score", and "Best Sound".Good luck to SR's VE team on Sunday!

Unfortunately, SR lost to POTC 2 movie. #shrugs# Oh, well...better luck next time for the SR sequel. Btw, there was a montage of various movies shown in another segment of the Oscars and SR's Supes was shown, the scene where he was floating around... this scene: I thought that was awesome that they showed that.
